An Evening in Alanya: An Hour-by-Hour Route
What to do in Alanya depends on the season, but for evenings there is a pattern that reliably works. The route below suits both first-time visitors and people who know the town, and nearly all of it can be done on foot from the centre.
17:30 — Alanya Castle and the Red Tower
Going up before sunset is the right call. The viewpoints along the castle road are less crowded at this hour and the light is far better for photographs. The area around the Red Tower is a good starting point for seeing the harbour.
19:00 — An early dinner
Central restaurants fill after 20:30. Sitting down early means no waiting and no rushing through the meal. The harbour area works well for seafood; the smaller places in the centre are better for home-style Turkish cooking.
20:30 — A walk along the shore
Half an hour along the seafront after dinner is often the most restorative part of the evening. By this hour the air has cooled and the crowds have thinned.
21:30 — Shisha and conversation
For the last stretch of the evening, somewhere seated and calm makes the most sense. Hookah lounges are designed exactly for this: the music does not drown out conversation, the seating suits a long stay, and nobody hurries you. If you are in the centre, pick somewhere within walking distance — getting home becomes trivial.
Seasonal adjustments
- July–August: Shift everything an hour later; 18:30 is better for the castle.
- April–May and October: Evenings can turn cool, so bring a light layer.
- Winter: The town quietens down and most places have space without booking.
Practical notes
Parking in the centre tightens in the evening, so walk if you can. If you are a larger group, reserve the final stop in advance. Our lounge is in the Saray district, open daily 09:00 – 00:00, and WhatsApp is all you need to book.
